He also serves as interim Global Co-Chief Investment Officer, overseeing a broad suite of investment capabilities — including index, fundamental, quantitative, and tax-advantaged strategies, as well as active, multi-asset class and alternative investments — until a successor is named.

Since joining NTAM in 2012, Mike has held a range of senior leadership roles and played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s investment philosophy. He has led a global team of more than 300 professionals and serves on the Asset Management Executive Group, the Investment Policy Committee, and the Risk Committee.

Previously, Mike served as Deputy Chief Investment Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Global Equities, where he oversaw all equity portfolio management, research, and trading activities. He also led NTAM’s quantitative strategies team, driving factor-based research and product innovation. Prior to Northern Trust, he held senior investment roles at Breakwater Capital and Allstate Investments.

With 25 years of industry experience and a track record of growth and innovation, Mike brings deep expertise and strategic vision to his leadership. He sits on the Northern Trust Management Group.
